The TK Series from RBH combines the best attributes anyone could want in a speaker: build quality, aesthetics, value and most importantly, sound quality. As with any RBH speaker, sound quality comes first. To that end, RBH's engineers combined high-end and proprietary components when designing the TK Series to ensure the series was worthy of the RBH brand name. One of the most vital aspects of any great speaker design is its cabinet construction. The TK Series cabinets are made of MDF (medium density fiberboard), then covered in a high-grade finish resembling black fir or rosewood. Undesirable sonic signatures from cabinet resonances are significantly reduced through the use of the MDF construction. The TK Series benefits from some of the latest in driver technologies. The soft-dome tweeters feature magnetic cooling fluid which allows higher power handling as well as reducing compression and distortion. The distinctive yellow midrange drivers are made of an exclusive fiberglass mesh which creates a tighter and stiffer diaphragm. This lighter and stiffer diaphragm or cone translates into higher efficiency and less distortion than other materials typically used in other speakers at the same price level. The heavy duty, long throw subwoofers used in the TK-5CT and PC-10 are made from a high quality kraft pulp composite. These subwoofers are capable of moving large volumes of air and take advantage of the TK Series' rigid cabinets to reproduce tight, well defined, unrestrained bass. Intricate crossover networks using high quality components are used to manage the drivers in each TK Series model. Many hours of research and computer modeling went into each crossover design for this series to ensure proper integration of each driver. The TK Series also employs fast and efficient tweeter protection circuitry to provide years of trouble-free service for overzealous listeners. The TK Series' subwoofer, the PC-10 features a powerful amplifier to deliver solid bass support down to an impressive 30Hz! Other amenities include a 50-150Hz continuously variable low-pass crossover network, both pre-amp and speaker-level inputs. On and 180 degree phase adjustments , an adjustable level control and an energy savings auto ON/OFF power supply. The PC-10 is also equipped with a limiter which prevents the subwoofer from being overdriven and eliminates unwanted distortion . Flexibility is key when trying to incorporate a speaker ensemble into any home environment. The TK Series models can be combined to create a multi-channel home theater system by mixing and matching the TK-5CT tower speakers, the TK-5C bookshelf speakers, the TK-515C center speaker and the PC-10 powered subwoofer. For homes where surround speaker placement is a challenge, RBH's sonically matched TK series in-wall and in-ceiling speakers can be used.
